WA AESD Educational Technology NetworkWorking together to support Washington's schools
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the nine Educational Service Districts (ESDs), unified as the Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD or ESD Network) were chartered in House Bill 1365 to support increased educational technology (Ed Tech) services described in the bill as digital equity and support across the state.
Our EdTech Vision
To empower innovation and collaboration within educational communities by developing and enhancing digital equity, access, and inclusion to meet the needs of all students with an emphasis on underserved students, families, and communities.
Our EdTech Mission
To utilize data-informed, inclusive decision making to accelerate student access to learning devices and related goods and services; expand professional learning programs and technical assistance on using technology to support student learning; and to build the capacity of schools and districts to support digital navigation services for students and their families, especially for underserved populations.
Districts across the state are streamlining how they deliver remote instruction via one or two “Learning Management Systems” (LMS platforms) through which teachers deliver instruction and engage students in learning. The AESD is supporting these efforts by offering professional learning and technical support to educators and district leaders focused on five LMS platforms: Canvas, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Schoology, and Seesaw.
All courses are online and self-paced so that educators can learn when it’s most convenient. Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate virtually with other educators across the state.
Regional Educator Network
Connect. Learn. Lead.
Together we can support instruction for all learning environments. Anyone working in education can engage in a Regional Network regardless of technical skill or level.
The AESD has developed materials for school districts to use in supporting families and child care providers as they help students navigate selected learning management system (LMS) platforms.
In addition, educators can view video recordings of “live” sessions from the LMS 101 series.
